FOR ADOLESCENTS

I understand that the teenage years can be filled with unique challenges and emotional complexities. That's why I offer specialized play therapy services designed specifically for adolescents, providing a safe and nurturing space for them to express themselves and develop valuable life skills. I am an experienced therapists that is dedicated to supporting adolescents through their journey of self-discovery, emotional growth, and healing. Whether they are facing trauma, anxiety, depression, or other mental health concerns, I am here to help. Through play-based interventions, I empower adolescents to navigate their emotions, build resilience, and develop healthy coping mechanisms.

At The Play Therapy Center, I recognize that traditional talk therapy may not always resonate with teenagers. That's why I utilize play therapy techniques, which provide a creative and engaging avenue for expression. Play therapy allows adolescents to communicate, process their experiences, and explore their thoughts and feelings in a way that feels natural to them. As a play therapist, I am trained to address a wide range of adolescent issues, including self-esteem, peer relationships, family dynamics, identity exploration, and more. I create a non-judgmental and supportive environment where adolescents can feel safe to share their concerns and work towards personal growth. Through the power of play, I help adolescents develop crucial skills such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, communication, and resilience. My goal is to empower teenagers to overcome challenges, build healthy relationships, and thrive in all aspects of their lives.

If you're seeking compassionate and effective therapy for your adolescent, contact The Play Therapy Center today. My specialized play therapy services are tailored to meet the unique needs of teenagers, fostering emotional well-being and guiding them towards a brighter future.

What to Expect

I will have you complete some intake paperwork at the first appointment (you can either download it from this page-"Informed Consent," "Client Consent to Counseling," and "Face Sheet," or I have copies at my office for you to complete).  During the first visit, I meet with you and your teenage to get some background information and to discuss what is bringing you all to counseling.  I will have you complete a questionnaire at this first visit as well.  I typically see teenagers by themselves for therapy.  Additionally, the older a child is the more "right to confidentiality" they have.  If you teenager is in danger of harming themselves or others, I will inform you.  If your teenager gives me permission to discuss issues with you, I am more than happy to have these discussions with you.
